KBC 16: Amitabh Bachchan Opens Up About His Nervousness During Jaya Bachchan's Calls
In the latest episode of KBC 16, Mr. Bachchan recounts a comical moment with his wife, Jaya Bachchan, which required him to communicate in Bengali. Although he no longer speaks the language fluently, this posed a challenge for him.
The megastar disclosed that Jaya often converses in Bengali when they have guests at home, particularly when they wish to discuss matters privately. He admitted to pretending to understand her, despite not actually doing so. Furthermore, he mentioned, "Recently, while she was filming in Goa, I received a phone call from her. Typically, we communicate via text messages, but this time she called, and I felt a wave of nervousness. When my wife calls, I become anxious, uncertain of what to expect."
He mentioned that he initially hesitated to take the call, and when he finally did, Jaya began speaking in Bengali due to the presence of others around her. However, Big B found himself unable to comprehend any of it. He recounted, "I simply kept responding with 'ha ha,' but eventually, I informed her that I did not understand her words. Therefore, there are times when I must navigate situations like this. If you were to ask me to converse in Bengali today, I would be at a loss. I only know two phrases: Besi jane na, ektu ektu jaane (I don't know much, very little I can understand)."
