Renowned South Indian actress Jyotika recently appeared in the Netflix crime drama series Dabba Cartel. The series boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Shabana Azmi, Nimisha Sajayan, and others, with Jyotika playing a significant role. At the third edition of the OTTplay Awards 2025, held in Mumbai on March 22, she was honored with the Best Supporting Actor (Female) award.

Jyotika wins Best Supporting Actor (Female) for Dabba Cartel

Created by Shibani Dandekar Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda, the series is helmed by Hitesh Bhatia. Excel Entertainment has produced Dabba Cartel. It revolves around a group of women who are the mastermind of a drug cartel, operating under the guise of a food delivery network.

Jyotika made her long-format debut with Dabba Cartel, although she has starred in a couple of straight-to-OTT films down south. She plays the role of Varuna in Dabba Cartel, a character she said that resonated with her personally. The actor, who is taking up roles in Hindi after a long gap, has earlier said how the industry is giving her opportunities to play varied roles.

Jyotika, who received the award from Mr. Chen and Deepak during the event hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait, expressed her gratitude by stating, “I extend a heartfelt thank you to Shibani and the show's writers, Bhavna Kher and Vishnu Menon. I also want to thank my girlfriends and Shabana ma'am. I am truly overwhelmed by this recognition from OTTplay.”

"Dabba Cartel" comprises seven episodes, each lasting an hour, and is available for streaming on Netflix.

The OTTplay Awards 2025 attracted prominent figures from the Indian OTT industry, all gathered to celebrate the theme "One Nation, One Award." Notable attendees included Rakesh Roshan, Manoj Bajpayee, Hina Khan, Jyothika, among others, who were honored at the ceremony, which featured celebrities from various film industries, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

The OTTplay Awards 2025 is co-presented by Real Juice and Kuhl, with Stock Gro as the powering partner.
