Justin Baldoni's $250 Million Lawsuit: Accusations Against Ryan Reynolds Unveiled

Ryan Reynolds and Justin Baldoni reportedly engaged in a tense exchange during a meeting in January 2024 that included Blake Lively. Although Baldoni's lawsuit characterizes the incident as "traumatic," a source has indicated that Ryan was assertive but not confrontational while addressing concerns regarding a 'hostile' work environment on set.
Further information regarding the meeting, which took place at the couple's penthouse in New York City, has surfaced in the wake of Baldoni's $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times.
The reality surrounding the encounter between Ryan Reynolds and Justin Baldoni
A source reportedly present at the meeting informed TMZ on Thursday that Ryan exhibited an "angry and stern" demeanour during the January 4 gathering, and although he spoke in an "impassioned" manner, it did not escalate to yelling or reprimanding.
In the counter-lawsuit filed by Baldoni, it is stated that the couple arranged a meeting that included Baldoni, other producers, and a representative from Sony. The filing indicates that the attendees "arrived prepared to discuss plans for the next day’s filming with production materials in hand." However, it is alleged that Lively and Reynolds had different intentions, as they "blindsided" the group by presenting a "list of unexpected and concerning grievances."
Lively's co-star and director of It Ends With Us characterized the experience as "traumatic," asserting that he had "never been spoken to like that before."
Contrary to these allegations, the insider disclosed that the meeting indeed took place last January, as "It Ends With Us" was set to resume production following industry strikes, and all attendees were aware that Baldoni's alleged conduct would be addressed, thus there was no element of surprise.
The insider further stated that Baldoni's assertion in the court documents, claiming that the "inappropriate and humiliating reprimand" occurred while other celebrity guests were present in the penthouse, is entirely unfounded.
The New York Times has issued a response regarding the $250 million lawsuit filed by Justin Baldoni
Justin Baldoni is part of a group of ten plaintiffs who are taking legal action against the publication, which includes publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel. Their names were implicated in Lively's lawsuit, which accuses them of orchestrating a smear campaign. The plaintiffs are pursuing claims of “libel and false light invasion of privacy” in response to a December 21 article titled “‘We Can Bury Anyone’: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine.” This article was released shortly after Lively filed an eight-page lawsuit against the Jane The Virgin actress, outlining allegations of sexual harassment and other misconduct.
In response to the lawsuit, the publication issued a statement to PageSix, asserting that the article was “meticulously and responsibly reported” and that they intend to “vigorously defend against the lawsuit.”
