Justin Baldoni to Leverage Taylor Swift in Blake Lively Case? Swift Was Present at Key Meeting

On January 16, Justin Baldoni initiated a counteraction against his It Ends With Us co-star by filing a $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively, her spouse Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist. This legal action came one month after Lively lodged a significant complaint alleging sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign.

In support of his substantial allegations against the involved parties, the director of It Ends With Us mentioned Lively’s close friend, Taylor Swift. Baldoni claimed that the record-breaking pop artist, along with the Deadpool star, exerted pressure on him to accept Blake’s revisions for the film’s widely discussed rooftop scene. It is well-known that Taylor’s song "my tear ricochet" features prominently in both the movie and its trailer.

In a recent podcast discussion, Bryan Freedman, the attorney representing Baldoni, once again criticized Taylor Swift. Despite the contentious nature of the dispute between Blake and Baldoni, Justin's legal team now possesses a new strategy that could complicate matters further. With the "Anti-Hero" singer being a key figure in the controversial meeting involving the "Jane the Virgin" star, Lively, and Reynolds, there is a significant likelihood that Swift's deposition will become a focal point.

In a new episode of the TMZ podcast titled "Two Angry Men," hosts Harvey Levin and Mark Geragos contend that the conflict between Blake and Justin is unlikely to proceed to trial, suggesting that the lawsuit was initiated primarily for public relations purposes on both sides.

Bryan Freedman eventually participated in the discussion and faced intense questioning regarding the potential individuals who might be deposed in the future. Although the hosts mentioned Taylor Swift's name, Baldoni's attorney interjected, stating, "Well, I don’t know that we’re gonna depose Taylor Swift or not." Freedman characterized the decision as a "game-time decision," suggesting that there were currently no plans to involve the global pop star.

Nevertheless, his subsequent comment did not entirely rule out the possibility. "I can tell you this, anyone that reasonably has information that can provide evidence in this case is going to be deposed," he stated. With a smirk, Baldoni's lawyer concurred that the beloved singer was present for "that" meeting.

Without a direct admission, Justin Baldoni's lawyer hints at a potential Taylor Swift deposition

Levin and Geragos already strongly believe that the actors involved on both sides of the case will likely go to great lengths to avoid taking it all to the courtroom, given their high-profile, A-list positions in Hollywood. Taylor Swift, on the other hand, brings in a whole new level of stardom being the biggest star on the table.

“I think they are gonna do everything they can to avoid going to court because the last thing they want is to have their friend, the biggest star in the world now, sitting on a stand being grilled by Bryan Freedman,” Levin said of Taylor Swift.

To which Baldoni’s attorney replied, “I assume that they're gonna probably take some legal actions that are beyond the bounds of decency, and we’ll see if they can try to avoid a deposition.”
