In the wake of Blake Lively's serious lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, WME has severed ties with the director of It Ends With Us. This decision was influenced, in part, by the grave accusations detailed in Lively's complaint, which include claims of intrusive behavior and a smear campaign, as reported by Deadline. Concurrently, WME maintains its representation of Lively as a client.
Justin Baldoni dropped by WME
Justin Baldoni, the American actor and filmmaker, is no longer represented by WME as of the morning of December 21, according to various reports. Blake Lively, who appeared alongside Baldoni in their latest film, has initiated a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment among other claims. This legal action not only implicates Baldoni but also several key individuals from his production company, including lead producer Jamey Heath and Wayfarer co-owner Steve Sarowitz, among others.
The agency has not yet released an official comment, while Baldoni's legal representatives have categorically refuted the allegations, labeling them as "false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious." Nevertheless, text messages cited in the lawsuit reportedly indicate efforts to sway public opinion against Lively. Blake Lively's legal team has submitted text messages obtained via subpoena, which reveal communications between PR professionals Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, including a message in which they appear to take pride in their successful strategy to undermine Lively, as reported by TMZ.
Blake Lively sexual assault lawsuit against Justin Baldoni
A dispute between Lively and Baldoni has emerged on the set of their film, It Ends With Us. The film has faced significant criticism and controversy leading up to its release, failing to meet expectations. Following this, Baldoni's team has accused Lively of contributing to the film's shortcomings, particularly after she filed an extensive 80-page complaint against him on Wednesday.
According to the complaint obtained by TMZ, Lively alleges that Baldoni fostered a “hostile work environment” during production, citing instances of “unwanted touching, inappropriate comments, and attempts to control her appearance.” She further claims that after voicing her concerns regarding his conduct, Baldoni and his team initiated a smear campaign against her. The complaint also details Baldoni's alleged intrusive behavior, including probing into Lively’s personal life with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and asserts that he "improvised" intimate scenes, added "unnecessary sexual content," and made numerous inappropriate, sexually charged remarks.
Additionally, it is claimed that the director exhibited a "shocking disregard for boundaries" by entering Lively's trailer "uninvited" while she was undressed or breastfeeding her child. The lawsuit mentions that a meeting took place in January 2024 during the film's production to discuss Lively’s concerns. The complaint states that Lively requested several modifications, including a prohibition on showing nude videos or images of women to her, no references to Baldoni’s alleged past with pornography, no discussions of sexual conquests, no mentions of genitalia, no inquiries about her weight, and no further comments regarding her late father.
