Jugal Hansraj Supports Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor Amid Nadaaniyan Controversy: 'Personal Attacks Are Unacceptable'

The newly launched film Nadaaniyan has faced significant criticism online, with numerous social media users deriding the acting abilities of Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, as well as the film's dialogue. In response to this backlash, Jugal Hansraj, who portrayed Ibrahim's father in the movie, has stepped forward to support the emerging actors.

Jugal Hansraj reacts

In an interview with India Today Digital, Jugal discussed the online harassment that Khushi and Ibrahim encountered following the film's release.

Jugal remarked, "Criticism ought to be constructive. If someone with knowledge of cinema or relevant experience shares insights through a show or article about what succeeded and what fell short, that can be beneficial for learning. However, I have observed that social media often fosters personal attacks that do not constitute genuine criticism. Such behavior is merely childish and petty. Who am I to label something as bad? I can only express that it didn’t resonate with me. Yet, some individuals assert their opinions as if they possess all the answers."

The actor further stated, “In the 1980s, many actors began their careers with their debut films, but without the presence of social media, they were afforded the opportunity to develop and refine their skills. We all experienced a degree of awkwardness at the start, but the absence of social media meant there was no undue scrutiny. Unfortunately, today’s young actors—not just these two, but many others—are subjected to intense public scrutiny. Personal attacks are unacceptable. If you have constructive feedback, please share it, as that type of input can aid actors in their growth and development. However, personal comments regarding appearance can become problematic and inappropriate. I certainly do not support that form of criticism.”
