Johnny Depp has surprised his fans with a dramatic change in appearance for his forthcoming film. On Monday, Lionsgate revealed that production has commenced on Day Drinker, a thriller directed by Marc Webb. This project signifies the 61-year-old actor's comeback to Hollywood after enduring several years of legal challenges involving his former spouse, Amber Heard.

In a recent announcement on X, the studio unveiled an on-set image of Depp showcasing a striking new silver fox appearance. The star of Pirates of the Caribbean has swapped his iconic brown hair for grey, complemented by a matching beard. In the image, he is seen holding a drink while dressed in a navy blue suit paired with a light blue shirt.

Additionally, Depp sported captivating blue contact lenses for his role in the film, where he stars alongside Penelope Cruz. The initial photos from Day Drinker quickly gained traction online, with fans expressing their thoughts on the seasoned actor's transformation. One fan remarked, “We are entering the Silver Fox era of Johnny Depp and I am here for it.”

Scheduled for release in 2026, Day Drinker tells the story of a private yacht bartender, portrayed by Madelyn Cline, who meets a mysterious guest played by Depp. Their encounter leads them to become involved with a criminal figure, played by Cruz, resulting in an unexpected connection between the characters, according to Variety. The film also features performances by Manu Ríos, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle.
