In an interview with Pinkvilla, John discussed the kiss in detail. The conversation was sparked by a question about a photograph featuring him and Shah Rukh Khan, taken during the success celebration of the film Pathaan.

Recalling the incident, John remarked, "That is probably the best kiss I have ever received, and it was from Shah Rukh Khan, not from a woman. It happened at the success party of Pathaan. He is undoubtedly one of the finest co-stars I have had the pleasure to work with."

He further expressed, “What a remarkable man, a truly wonderful human being, and incredibly gracious. His charm is undeniable. My manager once mentioned that he embodies the essence of love, and he has a way of captivating the world. He is the epitome of a perfect man when he extends his hands."

Pathaan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham in leading roles, emerged as one of the most significant film releases of 2023. Produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films and directed by Siddharth Anand, the film showcases John as the antagonist Jim, opposing Shah Rukh Khan's titular character. Upon its release, Pathaan quickly became one of the highest-grossing films in Hindi cinema, earning ₹ 634 crore globally within just seven days.

In his recent professional activities, John Abraham was last featured in The Diplomat, which performed reasonably well at the box office.

The film, directed by Shivam Nair, known for Naam Shabana, stars John Abraham alongside Sadia Khateeb in prominent roles. It is inspired by the true story of Uzma Ahmad, an Indian national who was repatriated to India in 2017 after being allegedly deceived by a Pakistani man. She disclosed that she was coerced into marriage at gunpoint and faced abuse during her visit to his country. The narrative highlights the efforts of senior diplomat JP Singh, who is currently the ambassador to Israel, in rescuing the Indian woman who was enticed to Pakistan in 2017 by a man who promised her marriage. John portrays Singh in the film.

The Diplomat is produced by John's JA Entertainment in collaboration with T-Series, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl of Wakaoo Films, Sameer Dixit and Jatish Varma of Fortune Pictures, and Rakesh Dang of Seeta Films. The film premiered in theaters on March 14.
