John Abraham has recently premiered his 52nd film, The Diplomat. Interestingly, he began his career alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Additionally, he expressed a desire to work with Akshay Kumar on comedic projects. In a recent interview, the actor shared insights about his friendships within the industry and his aspirations for the future.

John's early connection with Shah Rukh Khan

In a discussion with Zoom, the actor shared an interesting piece of information regarding his connection with the Bollywood icon, which dates back to his modeling career. "I won the Gladrags competition, and my judges were Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, and Karan Johar. Collaborating with Shah Rukh in Pathaan felt like a full-circle moment for me. I began my journey with him and ultimately had the opportunity to work alongside him," John remarked.

The Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest, initiated by Maureen Wadia, the spouse of industrialist Nusli Wadia, was one of the most renowned modeling competitions in India during the 1990s. John triumphed in the contest in 1999 and subsequently traveled to the Philippines for the Manhunt International competition, where he secured second place.

‘Shah Rukh is a beautiful human being’

The Dostana star commended Shah Rukh for his profound understanding of cinema and shared insights about their collaborative dynamic.

"He is an exceptional individual—highly educated and possesses a unique grasp of cinema. We had a wonderful time on set. We filmed numerous fight scenes, but during breaks, we would enjoy tea and coffee before returning to the action. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had," he remarked.

Reflecting on his career, the actor noted that while he typically engages in serious films such as Madras Cafe, The Diplomat, Paramanu, and Batla House, he enjoys comedies as a viewer. Consequently, he expressed a desire to revisit his earlier works like Dostana and Garam Masala. This raises the question: will we see him reunite with Akshay Kumar soon? Here’s his response.

He (Akshay Kumar) is an incredible talent, and we share a lot of enjoyable moments together. In Housefull 2, there is a particularly humorous scene where we tumble down a waterfall. Just before that, we embrace and declare, ‘We are friends.’ That moment was entirely spontaneous. We often act on impulse, and the cameras capture it all," the actor remarked.

John also revealed that he was invited to participate in Housefull 5 but chose to decline the offer. “There is a more suitable opportunity waiting for me elsewhere. However, I would be thrilled to collaborate with Akshay on Garam Masala again,” John stated.
