Jennifer Lopez, in a video interview with British Vogue, reflected on the challenges of raising her 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, in the wake of her public separation from ex-husband Ben Affleck. Is the star of Atlast experiencing heightened vulnerability at this time?
Lopez, who portrays the mother of champion wrestler Anthony Robles in the film Unstoppable, shared her insights alongside Judy Robles, Anthony’s real-life mother. She characterized her journey of parenting as a “beautiful, challenging blessing.”
“Being a parent is the most difficult job anyone can undertake.”
“It involves striving to present the best version of yourself for your children while simultaneously grappling with personal struggles as a woman, navigating relationships, and pursuing your own dreams and aspirations,” she explained.
“I can relate to that. As a mother, the desire to present your best self for your children is paramount. You aim to uplift them, yet that does not exempt you from the human experience of facing challenges.”

The 55-year-old also addressed the emotional struggles depicted in the film, particularly Judy Robles's challenge in considering a second chance for her abusive ex-husband and the repercussions this had on her son. “I have found myself in similar situations, questioning whether I should give this individual another opportunity, only to return to them. I believe there is not a woman on this planet who has not faced such a dilemma, nor even a man,” Lopez remarked.
Lopez has candidly discussed her experiences of self-doubt throughout her journey as a single parent. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she expressed that embodying the character of Judy Robles provided her with a sense of healing. “There have been times in my life when I was a single mother, and I’ve wondered, ‘Am I sufficient for them?’” she stated, referring to her children with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
“And the reality is, all it takes is one loving parent to make a difference,” she clarified. “You can hear it in Anthony’s voice, and look at what he has achieved. That is the message the film imparted to me: You are enough.”
