In just a week, Hallyu fans are in for a treat with the exciting announcement of a new ‘K-pop Kollab’ featuring ‘JENNIE X DOECHII.’

On February 14 KST, BLACKPINK's Jennie revealed her collaboration with Grammy-winning rapper Doechii, known for her viral hits like “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake,” “What It Is (Block Boy),” and “Denial Is a River.”

The track they’re working on is titled “EXTERNAL.” A quick teaser dropped on Valentine’s Day, and the song is set to hit music platforms on February 21 at 2 pm KST (12 am EST).

Her upcoming debut solo album, "Ruby," is set to drop on March 7, and it will include the track "EXTERNAL." Fans have already had a sneak peek at the 15-song lineup, which is filled with exciting collaborations.

Jennie's solo album endeavor

In October 2024, Jennie dropped the first single from her album, called “Mantra.” Then, on January 31, 2025, she released a second single titled “Love Hangover,” featuring Dominic Fike, with Riverdale star Charles Melton making an appearance in the music video. The album “Ruby” will also include collaborations with Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, Kali Uchis, and FKJ.

Thanks to “Love Hangover,” Jennie Kim made her debut on the Hot 100 at #96. This is her third solo track to hit the chart, and it’s a significant achievement that ties her with fellow BLACKPINK member Rose for the second-most Hot 100 features among K-pop solo artists, according to Forbes.

The K-pop star is set to receive recognition at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music Awards happening in Los Angeles on March 29. In addition to aespa taking home the Group of the Year award, The Idol actress will also be celebrated with the Global Force Award.
