A criminal complaint has been lodged with the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) against the 64-year-old star of Streetfighter, as reported by CNN affiliate Antena 3. The allegations suggest that he knowingly engaged in sexual activities with women who were trafficked by a criminal organization led by Morel Bolea, according to PageSix.
The complaint asserts that the married martial artist-turned-actor had sexual relations with five women trafficked by a group believed to be run by Morel Bolea, a Romanian businessman and modeling agency owner.
Additionally, it is claimed that these women were allegedly presented to Jean-Claude as a "gift," with the purported incidents occurring during an event he hosted in Cannes, as reported by Antena 3 CNN. No specific timeframe for these alleged acts has been provided.
Attorney Adrian Cuculis, representing one of the alleged victims, informed the outlet that the women were in a vulnerable state and suspected of being exploited.
“At one point in Cannes, during an event organized by Jean-Claude Van Damme, several Romanians currently under investigation for forming a criminal group and pimping allegedly offered him five Romanian women—models in Romania—for sexual relations,” Adrian stated, according to an English translation.
More about the case
Adrian stated that this case is a component of a broader inquiry into human trafficking and the exploitation of minors, which was initiated by Romania's prosecutor's office in 2020.
Jean-Claude's representatives, known for his roles in films such as Kickboxer, Double Impact, Street Fighter, and Double Team, have not yet responded to the allegations.
