Deb Mukherjee, the esteemed actor and father of Ayan Mukerji, passed away at the age of 83 on Friday morning. He was frequently seen by photographers during the annual Durga Puja festivities hosted by Kajol and Rani Mukerji. On the same day, veteran actress Jaya Bachchan came to offer her condolences. Upon arrival, she greeted Kajol at the entrance, and the two embraced warmly for an extended moment.

On Friday afternoon, Jaya Bachchan reached Ayan Mukerji's home in her vehicle. At that very moment, Kajol also arrived as Jaya exited her car. The two embraced warmly, with Jaya offering comfort to Kajol during this challenging period. Subsequently, both Jaya and Kajol were observed engaging in conversation before entering the premises alongside several other close friends and family members.

Celebrities pay their final respects

Numerous celebrities gathered at Ayan Mukerji's residence to offer their final tributes to Deb Mukherjee. Among them was actress Alia Bhatt, a close friend of Ayan, who was seen outside his home accompanied by her sister, Shaheen Bhatt. She had just returned from a vacation in Alibaug with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, to support Ayan during this difficult time. Both Ranbir and Alia starred in Ayan's film, Brahmastra Part 1. Ranbir shares a close friendship with Ayan, having collaborated on projects such as Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Deb Mukherjee was a highly regarded member of the Samarth-Mukherjee family, serving as the father of filmmaker Ayan Mukerji and the father-in-law of director Ashutosh Gowariker. His funeral is scheduled to take place at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu on March 14 at 4 PM. Numerous relatives, including Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji, Tanuja, Tanisha, and Aditya Chopra, are anticipated to be in attendance.

Kajol was recently featured in the film Do Patti and is set to appear next in the mythological horror movie Maa. The poster and theatrical release date for this upcoming film were revealed on Monday.
