Chuttamalle, a track featured in the film Devara: Part 1 starring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr. NTR, has received significant acclaim from audiences. The song is performed by Shilpa Rao, renowned for her versatility as a singer. On February 9, during his tour in India, Ed Sheeran delighted fans in Bengaluru by performing Chuttamalle alongside Shilpa during a live concert. Recently, Janhvi and Jr. NTR shared a video of this memorable moment and expressed their admiration for the collaboration.

Janhvi Kapoor posted a video on her Instagram Story featuring Ed Sheeran performing alongside Shilpa Rao, singing "Chuttamalle" from her film, Devara: Part 1. In her post, the actress expressed her excitement by stating, "What a crossover to wake up to (red heart)."

Similarly, Jr. NTR also shared the video on his Instagram Story, commenting, "Music knows no boundaries, and you have demonstrated that once more, Ed! Listening to you sing Chuttamalle in Telugu is genuinely remarkable."

Ed Sheeran shares the stage with Shilpa Rao

Ed utilized Instagram to document his journey of learning and rehearsing Telugu vocals before his performance. In the video, he was observed welcoming Shilpa onto the stage.

“Let’s hear it for Shilpa Rao!” he announced, prompting enthusiastic applause from the audience. The pair then performed "Chuttamalle" together, with Ed skillfully harmonizing the Telugu lyrics while accompanying himself on the guitar. “I have been captivated by @shilparao’s voice for some time now; it is truly an honour to share the stage tonight and to learn a new language!” he remarked.

Devara: Part 1 is a Telugu-language action film set to be released in 2024, centering on a chieftain from a coastal village who battles against arms smuggling. 

N. T. Rama Rao Jr. (Jr NTR) plays a dual role as Devara and Vara, alongside a cast that includes Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko. The film is presently available for streaming on Netflix.
