A storyboard artist involved in the production of "It Ends With Us" has shared her insights regarding her collaboration with actor-director Justin Baldoni, particularly in light of his prominent legal dispute with actor Blake Lively.
In a recent interview with 60 Minutes Australia, crew member Talia Spencer, who contributed to the film's production, recounted her experiences with Justin, who not only directed the film but also starred alongside Blake. Talia expressed her support for Justin, describing him as one of the rare directors she encountered who demonstrated kindness and respect.
“Blake smelled Justin's kindness and took control”
A portion of the interview focused extensively on the ongoing legal dispute between Justin and Blake. Talia expressed her decision to join the project It Ends With Us, citing her belief that the director had a strong commitment to the team's vision and that Justin was not motivated by a desire for fame.
"I believe Blake may have misinterpreted Justin's kindness as a sign of weakness and attempted to exploit it for her own gain," Talia remarked during the interview, reflecting on the dynamics between Blake and Justin on set. When asked if she believed Blake attempted to seize control of the film from Justin, she responded, "I think she did try, yes." In response to whether Blake was successful in this endeavor, Talia stated, "Most likely, yes. I believe there was a significant compromise regarding Justin's original vision for the film."
About the controversy
Blake In December 2024, she initiated a legal dispute by filing a lawsuit against Justin, accusing him of sexual harassment and orchestrating a retaliatory smear campaign. Justin refuted all claims and, in January, filed a countersuit against Blake, her husband Ryan Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloan, and the PR firm Vision PR, alleging civil extortion and defamation, which Blake's attorney contested.
In his complaint, he also asserted that two distinct versions of It Ends With Us had been produced: one under Justin's supervision and another created by Blake, who received producer credit as her version ultimately became the final edit.
