Actor Ishaan Khatter has commented following the Pahalgam terror attack, calling on Indians to stay united and not allow hatred to create divisions based on religion. Drawing from his own experiences, Ishaan noted that he had been in Pahalgam just weeks prior to the incident.
Ishaan on Pahalgam attack
Ishaan, who traveled to Pahalgam just two months earlier to film the music video for the song Pyaar Aata Hai with Tara Sutaria, took to Instagram to share his thoughts.
Ishaan wrote, “On a personal note, I’d like to say this. I was in Pahalgam barely 2 months ago. I have always felt a deep connection and love for Kashmir and have always found the people to be kind and helpful. I’ve met some beautiful souls there. My heart aches to imagine the loss that the victims of these awful attacks are facing. ”

He stated, “Let’s not forget that Kashmir has been suffering for a long time. A region often referred to as heaven on earth is profoundly hurt by actions like these, and the lives of its residents are permanently impacted. We are to be judged not for our politics, not for our faith, but for our HUMANITY. ”
The actor called on individuals to not let hatred distract them and to center their efforts on pursuing justice. He expressed, “Let’s always remember and let’s channel our shared anger towards seeking JUSTICE and not senseless hatred. Let’s embody what these despicable attackers wish for us to forget we truly are - Human beings, with compassion, reasoning, and thoughtfulness. ”
About the attack
On April 22, assailants killed 26 individuals, including tourists at Baisaran, a well-known tourist destination in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which is often called “Mini Switzerland. ” This incident is seen as one of the most lethal terrorist attacks in the area since the 2019 Pulwama bombing.
In its initial response, India declared punitive actions against Pakistan, which included suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and lowering diplomatic relations. On Thursday, India announced the cancellation of all visas granted to Pakistani citizens effective from April 27 and urged Indian citizens living in Pakistan to return to their homeland as soon as possible amidst the rising tensions between the two nations.
