Mirzapur is an IP that has earned a glorious score in the Indian digital space, attracting the biggest talents in the country, all eager for a chance to be part of the franchise. No actor in the Indian scene would likely pass up the opportunity to be involved without giving it serious consideration. So, when season three was recently released, fans were already anticipating Mirzapur season 4. But while conversations about season 4 were at their peak, a rumor surfaced that the makers were now broadening the horizon of the franchise, which currently streams on Amazon Prime Video, by taking it to the big screen with Mirzapur: The Film. Yes, you read that right. If that wasn’t surprising enough, there was even speculation that Hrithik Roshan had been approached to play Kaleen Bhaiya in the film. 

Hrithik Roshan Joining Mirzapur: The Film?

Confused? So were we when we first heard it. Recently, a rumor emerged suggesting that the creators of Mirzapur were working on a movie set in the same universe. It was also reported that Excel Entertainment, the production house behind Mirzapur, had approached Hrithik Roshan to play Kaleen Bhaiya in the film. Interestingly, this implied that the actor would replace Pankaj Tripathi as Akhandanand Tripathi, aka Kaleen Bhaiya. The rumor caused quite a stir, and everyone was eager to know the truth. However, it turns out the rumor was just a hoax, and there’s no truth to it. Read on to learn everything you need to know.

According to Himesh Mankad, the rumors about Hrithik Roshan being approached to play Kaleen Bhaiya in Mirzapur: The Film are false, with no substance behind them. Hrithik was never approached for the role in the first place, let alone considered for it. The star is currently busy filming War 2 and will move on to Krrish 4 once he wraps up the YRF sequel, which also stars Jr NTR. This means there’s no way Hrithik is joining the gangster saga in any capacity.

Himesh Mankad’s tweet read: “#HrithikRoshan is not approached for #Mirzapur (The Film) and is not replacing anyone in the gangster saga. He is presently shooting for #War2 and has all his energies invested in #Krrish4 as well. That aside, #HR is reading a lot of scripts from several directors and production houses, exploring the possibilities for his next feature film!”

About Mirzapur Season 4

The makers of the show have already revealed that work has begun on season 4 of Mirzapur. The announcement was made when season 3 hit a streaming milestone just days after its release on Amazon Prime Video. Recently, Rasika Dugal, who plays Bina Tripathi in the show, revealed that the fourth season will be a "banger." However, no plot details or release date have been attached to the show yet.
