Saif Ali Khan is currently recuperating at Lilavati Hospital following an incident in which he sustained multiple stab wounds during an attack at his residence. In response, the Mumbai Police have escalated their investigation into the matter. It has been reported that the actor was assaulted after he intervened in a dispute involving his domestic help and the assailant. Authorities now believe that the domestic help may have had prior knowledge of the attacker.

According to a source from the Mumbai police, “We suspect that the domestic help may have facilitated the assailant's entry, which led to a confrontation. She is being questioned by local police to gather further information regarding the suspect. Seven teams from the local police are actively engaged in efforts to locate him.” The report further indicated that the assailant had been confined to one of the rooms but managed to escape.

How Saif Ali Khan got injured

An unidentified individual gained entry into the residence of Saif and Kareena Kapoor in Bandra (West) at approximately 2:30 AM on Thursday. The actor became aware of the incident due to a confrontation between the intruder and his domestic staff. According to a source from the Mumbai Police cited by news agency ANI, "When the actor attempted to intervene and calm the individual, he was assaulted by Saif Ali Khan, resulting in injuries." The police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident. At the time of the attack, Saif, Kareena, and their two sons, Taimur and Jeh, were present in the home. Following the incident, Saif was transported to Lilavati Hospital around 3:30 AM by his elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, from his previous marriage to actress Amrita Singh.

Saif Ali Khan is out of danger

Shortly after noon on Thursday, a statement was released by Saif's team. "Saif Ali Khan has successfully emerged from surgery and is no longer in danger. He is presently in recovery, with doctors closely monitoring his condition. All family members are safe, and the police are conducting an investigation into the incident," the statement indicated. According to Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, the actor has been transferred to the ICU, where he will remain under observation for a period of one day.
