At a recent event for the launch of her new song Haule Haule from the movie Khel Khel Mein, co-starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu was allegedly seen refusing to take a selfie with an influencer who attended the promotional event for the film. The video received mixed reactions from users, including the influencer, Ananya Dwivedi. Ananya commented and opined that Taapsee needs PR training.
Influencer disappointed on being denied selfie
The video shows an influencer greeting Taapsee Pannu with a handshake and asking for a selfie. Taapsee seems willing at first, but then turns away and says something with a smile, making the influencer feel awkward. In the background, Taapsee's co-stars are standing on the stage while the host continues talking about the film.
The video was widely shared online. Ananya commented on Bollywood Pap's Instagram handle, “That’s me. And I don’t understand why would someone deny a selfie when you’re already surrounded by cameras and the only reason influencers like me were called is to promote HER song! She really needs a better PR training.” The handle later deleted the video. However, the pictures were later shared on Reddit.
Internet divided over Taapsee' selfie video
A fan on Reddit defended Taapsee and wrote, “Yeah but it also looked like she barely said a few words and pulled out her camera. Taapsee probably just was pointing to proper photos.” Another fan commented, “She didn’t do anything wrong, she has no obligation to give a selfie, plus there’s cameras right there for them to take a proper picture.”
A fan also pointed out, “The influencer said something like ‘on a video’ at the end that's when Tapsee changed her mind. It wasn't just a selfie I believe. Twisted story to make Tapsee look bad. Also she was polite about it. Let a person live.” A user also commented, “Actually both are irrelevant to be making such a huge fuss about nothing.” Another user wrote, “Just because she is an actress that doesn’t mean she has to say yes fir every selfie every photo. Probably she doesn’t like herself in selfies, maybe she thought professional cameras are present so they’ll obviously click photos. She doesn’t owe anyone a picture just because she is a public figure.”
Taapsee's Khel Khel Mein also features Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Ammy Virk and Fardeen Khan in crucial characters. She will also be seen next in Jayprad Desai's Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba.
