Actor Sambhavna Seth recently had an encounter with Sana Khan about her forthcoming podcast. Sambhavna documented their meeting in her vlog, during which Sana remarked on her attire and proposed that she consider wearing a burqa. This suggestion has generated considerable backlash on social media.

Six days prior, Sambhavna released a vlog in which she was observed getting ready for Sana's podcast. The two engaged in lighthearted banter, reflecting on their experiences with Bigg Boss and recalling the playful arguments they had while enjoying their time in the house. Subsequently, as Sana was preparing to depart, she inquired of Sambhavna, who was dressed in a yellow kurta, whether she intended to change her outfit, to which the actress responded negatively.

Sana was observed critiquing her outfit and humorously suggesting that she should don a burqa. With a laugh, she remarked, "You don’t possess a decent salwar kameez... Do you want a slap? Where is your dupatta? Bring a burqa... Let’s make Sambhavna wear a burqa."

In response, Sambhavna stated, "I couldn’t find anything else that fit me well because I have gained quite a bit of weight—almost 15 kilograms. That’s alright. People will pay attention to our words rather than our attire. They will appreciate us for who we truly are." Sana was also seen encouraging her to wear a kimono or a jacket.

Sana faces backlash

Sana's comments were met with significant backlash from internet users, who criticized her for being 'regressive' and for allegedly pressuring Sambhavna to don a burqa. One user remarked, "If Sana expects others to embrace her culture and fashion choices, she must also show respect for individual identities. This is quite regressive." Another user expressed, "I truly disliked how Sana was imposing her views on Sambhavna’s attire... people should be allowed to live as they choose." Additionally, a comment stated, "It was somewhat disrespectful for her to suggest that you should cover up; it is your prerogative to wear whatever you prefer." Another user expressed disappointment in Sana's behaviour, stating, "I am let down by Sana’s actions. She claims ‘There’s no dupatta, no salwar kameez.’ Who is she to dictate what someone else should wear?"

Sana stepped away from her acting career before her marriage to Anas in November 2020. She subsequently removed images and videos from her professional engagements and travels on her social media platforms. Currently, she has launched her podcast, Raunak-e-Ramadan, where she prepares a special dish for iftar and engages guests in discussions about their Ramadan experiences. To date, she has interviewed personalities such as Jannat Zubair and Urvashi Dholakia.
