Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married in an intimate wedding ceremony on Sunday, June 23. Theirs was an inter-faith wedding and thus, limited guests could be a part of their big day. Among them were Saqib Saleem, Huma Qureshi, Siddharth, and Aditi Rao Hydari, among others. Both Sinha and Iqbal parents were at the wedding, which means that Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha both blessed the couple on the joyous occasion, which was already confirmed by various media publications.

Zaheer Iqbal called Jiju Number 1

They signed the official document, when the guests started singing/screaming ‘Sona Kitna Sona Hai,’ a song from Govinda-Karisma Kapoor’s Hero No. 1. Just as they screamed ‘Tu mera Jiju Number 1,’ Sonakshi burst out laughing. Shatrughan Sinha, standing next to Sonakshi, had a more serious expression on his face.

Siddharth asked guests to be ‘Khamosh’

Siddharth then screamed that everybody should ‘Khamosh’ at once. This made Sonakshi stay smiling and Shatrughan flaunt his dimpled smile. Poonam Sinha’s face also lit up in the moment.

After getting married, Zaheer gave a flying kiss and Sonakshi continued smiling wide. Once their wedding got officiated, Sonakshi screamed like a baby and Zaheer leaned in to give her a neck kiss. This was followed by a kiss on her right cheek.

As the guests whistled, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha both smiled wide in the moment. That is when Zaheer and Sonakshi exchanged garlands. Saqib Saleem couldn’t stop whistling and Siddharth screamed, “Bahut hard, brother.”

While finally stating that she takes Zaheer Iqbal as her lawful husband, Sonakshi broke down and could not stop grinning. She could barely hold back her tears once Sonakshi became Mrs. Sonakshi Sinha.

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal were in a relationship for seven years. The two did not officially confirm that they were dating, but did not deny the rumours either. In fact, they dropped various hints, including working in a movie, Double XL, together as a couple. The film is where Sonakshi grew close with Huma Qureshi and thus, Huma's brother Saqib Saleem ended up being one of the main men at Sonakshi's wedding.
