According to the Economic Times, Saif's net worth is estimated at $150 million, which translates to over ₹1200 crore. This positions him among the wealthiest figures in Bollywood, trailing only a few prominent names such as Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Vivek Oberoi. A significant asset in Saif's portfolio is the opulent Pataudi Palace, located in Haryana and serving as the ancestral home of his family. Valued at approximately ₹800 crore, it ranks as one of the most costly private residences in India, encompassing an area of 10 acres.

How Saif Ali Khan 'earned' his wealth back

Many people believe that Saif possesses generational wealth due to his status as the Nawab of Pataudi and his lineage as the son of the late Mansoor Ali Khan and actress Sharmila Tagore. However, it is important to note that he had to reclaim a portion of his heritage through his own efforts.

In a conversation with Mid-Day, Saif remarked, “There is a prevalent misconception. For instance, following my father's passing, the Pataudi palace was leased to Neemrana Hotels. Aman [Nath] and Francis [Wacziarg] managed the hotel. After Francis's death, he mentioned that I could request the palace back if I wished. I expressed my desire to reclaim it. They convened a meeting and informed me, ‘Alright, but you will need to provide a substantial sum of money!’ I then worked to earn that amount.”

The attack on Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified assailant at his residence in Bandra during the early hours of Thursday. The intruder gained access to the home shared by Saif and Kareena Kapoor around 2:30 AM. The actor became aware of the situation due to a confrontation between the intruder and his domestic staff. According to a source from the Mumbai Police cited by news agency ANI, "When the actor attempted to intervene and calm the individual, he was assaulted by Saif Ali Khan, resulting in injuries." Saif was subsequently taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent two surgical procedures.

Shortly after noon on Thursday, Saif's team released a statement: "Saif Ali Khan has successfully emerged from surgery and is no longer in critical condition. He is currently in recovery, with doctors closely monitoring his condition. All family members are safe, and the police are conducting an investigation into the incident." Dr Uttamani reported that the actor had been moved to the ICU following the surgeries, where he will remain under observation for one day.
