Imtiaz Ali is overjoyed with Laila Majnu re-releasing in theatres and finally receiving the love it did not when it originally released. The filmmaker, who ventured into telling the classics in his style with Laila Majnu, has now hinted that he has the script ready for all the other love legends as well. On a piece of paper, decorated with autumn leaves, Imtiaz wrote the name of some stories of eternal romance. Yes, it has Romeo-Juliet as well.

The other names include Sassi-Punnu, Sohni-Mahiwal, Mirza-Sahiba, Shireen-Farhad, and Heer-Ranjha. Sharing the names, he confirmed that the scirpt is ready for all and informed his fans that his next would also be a love legend.

Most stories touched upon in Bollywood

Out of these legends, most are already touched upon and loved in Bollywood. We have a version of Romeo-Juliet (Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's Ram-Leela, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali), Heer-Ranjha (three versions of them) and even versions of Mirza Sahiba. Thus, it would be interesting to see what new Imtiaz brings to the table.

About Laila-Majnu re-release

Available for streaming on Zee5, Laila-Majnu features Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. The movie has released in theatres once again, and is receiving as much love as it did on OTT. Avinash and Triptii expressed their gratitude on seeing the film perform well even after the re-release years later, and when Stree 2 is attaining peak success.

Today, years after their debut, both are established an immensely loved actors in the industry. The duo had collaborated for Anushka Sharma's Bulbbul, which got them immense fame. Triptii became further popular in the more recent times owing to her cameo appearance in Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, while Avinash is considered one of the best actors in the industry.
