Imtiaz Ali has suggested that a sequel to Rockstar may be in development. When the film featuring Ranbir Kapoor was initially released, it created considerable excitement; however, its Box Office performance fell short of expectations. Currently, the perception has shifted, and Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Jordan has become as legendary as the film's soundtrack. In light of this, Imtiaz has indicated that it may be time to consider a sequel. The pressing question remains: will it happen, and if so, when?

Imtiaz Ali expresses openness to a Rockstar sequel  

Imtiaz has shown a willingness to explore the possibility of Rockstar 2. During a recent discussion at Game Changers, he remarked, "Never say never. It is possible that an idea may come to me, and I might feel that this story, as a Rockstar Part 2 or a Rockstar concept, could be appealing," further adding, "Sometimes, a wild thought may inspire a return to Rockstar."

Could Ranbir Kapoor reprise his role in Rockstar 2?  

There is a strong possibility that Ranbir Kapoor would be interested in reprising his role for Rockstar 2. This speculation arises from the echoes of his character Jordan in his recent performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. The film garnered significant attention for the depth of the character and the emotional range Ranbir displayed. Therefore, it is feasible that he could return as Jordan or a similar character, contingent upon the script. However, given that Nargis Fakhri's character met her demise in the original film, her return for a sequel seems unlikely, should it come to fruition.
