During the ceremony, Irshaad Kaamil presented the award to Imtiaz, who was honored at an event hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait. Imtiaz expressed his gratitude with a playful remark directed at Irshaad, saying, "Jo bhi main kehna chahu, barbaad kare irshaad mere," and added, "Ghar aaja naadaan parinde." He also took this moment to announce their future collaborations, with both praising each other. Additionally, Imtiaz reflected on his two-decade journey in the film industry.

Significantly, this is Imtiaz Ali's first film released on an OTT platform, specifically Netflix, on April 12, 2024. His works frequently delve into themes of love, identity, and personal development, characterized by romantic storylines, self-discovery journeys, and the use of travel as a means of escape. His most celebrated films include "Jab We Met," "Love Aaj Kal," "Rockstar," "Tamasha," and "Highway."

The OTTplay Awards 2025 attracted prominent figures from the Indian OTT landscape, celebrating the theme "One Nation, One Award." Notable attendees included the Roshans, Manoj Bajpayee, and Kajol, among other celebrities from various film industries, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

The OTTplay Awards 2025 was co-presented by Real Juice and Kuhl, with Stock Gro as the powering partner.
