Following numerous interviews and numerous events where fans urged him to resume his acting career, it appears that Imran Khan has finally settled on a script. As per the latest reports, the actor is finally returning to movies after a nine-year absence, and he has been dropping hints about it since August 2023. Looking into a number of projects, Imran appears to have settled on the ideal script to return to acting after his break. 

Imran Khan's new project with Aamir Khan Productions

According to Peeping Moon, Aamir Khan's film will mark Imran Khan's return to the screen. Danish Aslam, who directed Break Ke Baad (2010), starring Imran and Deepika Padukone, will direct an untitled romantic comedy for Netflix. Fans can anticipate a carefree, entertaining film featuring Imran in a role he has always adored.

Aamir Khan Productions' first OTT project under the supervision of Aparna Purohit, the company's newly appointed CEO, is an untitled romantic comedy, along with Open Air Films. It is the production firm responsible for Netflix originals like Leila and Cobalt Blue. Reports indicate that production will commence within the next few months.

Imran Khan's full-circle career move

For Imran, beginning his second phase of his career alongside his maternal uncle Aamir Khan is like completing a life cycle. The actor got his start in the industry when he was a child actor in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and went on to make his full-fledged debut with Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008). Abhinay Deo and Imran collaborated on Delhi Belly (2011), a black comedy that became one of his most famous films.

Following the cancellation of his web series with Abbas Tyrewala, Imran has been picky about his return. Originally, Disney+ Hotstar had cast him as an intelligence officer in the espionage thriller series, set in the shadowy realm of South Asian counterintelligence. Reliance Industries and The Walt Disney Company merged, leading to the shelving of the project Siddharth Roy Kapur was producing.

Excitement for Imran Khan's rom-com comeback

Imran expressed his relief at the cancellation and stated that he has no interest in playing a character who uses violence to resolve disputes. Danish appears to have finally found the perfect project to return to acting with his romcom, and we are sure his fans can't wait to watch how it turns out.
