Regarding his separation from Avantika, the actor known for his role in Katti Batti married her in 2011 after a period of dating and a year-long engagement. They were viewed as a prominent couple and welcomed their daughter in 2014. However, in 2019, it was reported that they had begun living apart, with Avantika reportedly moving out of Imran's residence. At that time, the reasons for their separation were not officially disclosed, but it later emerged that they had opted to file for divorce while co-parenting their daughter.

In an interview with Filmfare, the actor reflected on the evolution of their relationship. He noted that they began dating at a young age, entering the relationship with "all good faith and good intention." He remarked, "However, as is often the case with long-term relationships that start in youth, many interpersonal dynamics and patterns are established based on teenage behavior. As individuals mature, these dynamics may not evolve sufficiently. In some respects, we were not fostering or empowering each other to become the healthiest versions of ourselves."

Imran Khan discussed his relationship with his 10-year-old daughter, emphasizing the strong and significant connection they share. He stated, "My daughter and I have cultivated a remarkably close and transparent relationship, which is something I have genuinely aimed to nurture and enhance."

He expressed his desire for her to feel a sense of comfort and security, assuring her that he is always there to support her. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of fostering an environment where she feels free to communicate openly with him, without the fear of being judged.
