Iman Chakraborty will celebrate her birthday on September 13 but does not wish to celebrate it this year. By her admission, the ongoing situation over the rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has dampened her spirit. Her colleagues could understand her mental state. Perhaps that was why they arranged a special gift for her before her birthday. 

Iman is currently serving as the judge of the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, along with Santanu Moitra, Koushiki Chakraborty, Indradeep Dasgupta, Jojo, Raghab Chatterjee and others. Abir Chatterjee hosts the show. They had a feast on the set as a celebration of Iman's birthday. Iman shared the photo on social media with the caption 'Pre birthday celebration at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’s set'.

Iman does not wish to celebrate her birthday because of the running unrest. Every year, her students arrange her birthday. Iman said 'I told them to do something small, if at all they wish to. They beautifully surprised me with songs and poems in the class.' 

Iman arranges dinner with friends and family every year on that day. But she is doing nothing this year. She said 'I think Indradeep da guessed it beforehand and hence arranged the feast. Thanks to him.'
