Music composer Ilaiyaraaja had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. Both of them took to their X (formerly Twitter) accounts to post pictures and compliment one another. PM Modi praised the music legend for his recently acclaimed Symphony performance in London.

Ilaiyaraaja posted a photo where he’s seen chatting and shaking hands with the Prime Minister. He wrote, "Had a wonderful meeting with Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji. We discussed various topics, including my Symphony Valiant. I’m truly grateful for his appreciation and support."

PM Modi posted more photos with the legendary music composer. "It was a pleasure to meet Rajya Sabha MP Thiru Ilaiyaraaja Ji, a musical legend whose brilliance has profoundly influenced our music and culture. He’s a true pioneer, and he made history once again by debuting his first Western classical symphony, Valiant, in London just a few days ago," he shared.

"This incredible performance featured the world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. This significant achievement adds another chapter to his extraordinary musical journey—one that keeps setting new standards of excellence worldwide. @ilaiyaraaja," he wrapped up his message.

When Ilaiyaraaja landed back in Chennai on March 10 after his trip to London, he was greeted with open arms by a crowd of political and cultural personalities at the airport. In a chat with the media, he expressed his gratitude to his supporters, particularly his fans in London. "I appreciate everyone. You all waved me off with such joy, which contributed to the event's great success. The affection I felt from the fans during the Symphony was incredible. The audience's appreciation was evident in every moment," he shared.
