Actor Saif Ali Khan has provided his statement to the police regarding the assault that occurred at his residence last Thursday. He presented his account to the Bandra Police on Thursday, two days following his release from the hospital. In a harrowing narrative, the actor described how he was awakened by screams emanating from his youngest son Jeh's room and came face to face with the assailant.

In his account, Saif reported that he was in his bedroom with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, located on the 11th floor of the Satguru Sharan building. At approximately 2:30 am, they were startled by the screams of their younger son Jeh's nanny. The commotion roused them from sleep, prompting them to rush to the room where they encountered the intruder. The nanny, Eliyama Philips, was in distress while Jeh was crying.

Saif recounted his attempt to subdue the intruder, who retaliated by attacking him with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds to his back, neck, and hands. According to police sources cited by NDTV, the actor managed to push the intruder into the room as the nanny fled with Jeh. Following this, Saif secured the intruder inside the room. 

When Mr Khan intervened to confront the assailant, he was stabbed several times in the back, neck, and hands, as reported by police sources. Despite sustaining injuries, the actor successfully pushed the intruder into the room while Ms Philips escaped with Jeh and subsequently locked the assailant inside, they noted.

Saif Ali Khan sustained six injuries, including significant lacerations to his neck and back, during the assault. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Thursday morning, where he underwent surgery to extract a portion of the knife embedded in his back. Additionally, the medical team addressed a leak of spinal fluid.

Saif was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday and returned to his residence in Bandra. The police are currently providing temporary security for Saif, Kareena, and their two children, Taimur and Jeh. Two constables have been assigned to the family to ensure their safety during outings.

The perpetrator, a Bangladeshi national, has been apprehended and is in police custody. Authorities have stated that he targeted Saif's residence for burglary and was unaware of the actor's celebrity status.
