Following the arrest of actor Allu Arjun related to the death of a fan during a screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule, allegations surfaced suggesting that the police had acted inappropriately towards the actor. In response, the Hyderabad police provided a clarification on Friday, defending the actor's detention, which ultimately resulted in his release on bail.

In a recent press release, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Central Zone of Hyderabad City addressed the circulating letter from Sandhya Cine Enterprise 70 MM, which was directed to the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Chikkadpally. The letter requested security arrangements for December 4 and 5, 2024, in relation to the release of "Pushpa-2." The Deputy Commissioner noted that the police receive numerous requests for security arrangements due to visits from political figures, film stars, and religious events. However, he emphasized that it is not feasible to provide security for every occasion.

On December 2, Sandhya Cine Enterprise formally requested the Hyderabad police to arrange security for the aforementioned dates. The police indicated that the organizer did not engage with any officers directly and merely submitted the letter without further discussion. They also reported that the crowd was effectively managed until the arrival of the actor.

The police clarified that in situations where a large crowd is anticipated or a well-known individual is present, the organizer typically visits the police station or the offices of the ACP or DCP to provide details about the event. In this instance, however, the organizer failed to meet with any police personnel and only submitted the letter through the inward section. Despite the lack of information, the police managed to implement appropriate crowd control measures outside the theatre, maintaining order until the actor's arrival.

Furthermore, the police alleged that the actor's actions contributed to an incident at the Sandhya theatre, which ultimately resulted in the death of a woman. They reported that the actor exited his vehicle through the sunroof and waved to the assembled crowd, which drew a significant number of people toward the theatre's entrance. Concurrently, his private security team began to push individuals aside to clear a path for the vehicle. Although his team was advised to return him to safety due to the large gathering, they did not respond accordingly, and Allu Arjun remained inside the theatre for over two hours. Consequently, the police asserted that while adequate security measures were in place, it was the actor's actions that led to the unfortunate incident.

Allegations of misconduct.

Hyderabad police have refuted the claims that their personnel acted inappropriately towards Allu Arjun during his arrest. 

The police stated, "The allegation that our personnel misbehaved with Allu Arjun at the time of his arrest is unfounded. Upon arriving at his residence, he requested a brief period to change his attire. He entered his bedroom while the police waited outside, and he voluntarily came out to be taken into custody. There was no application of force or misconduct by any police officer. He was afforded ample opportunity to speak with his family and wife before he exited and entered the police vehicle."

Allu Arjun was apprehended at his residence in Banjara Hills on Friday afternoon in relation to the death of a woman during a stampede at the Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2 the previous week. A local court initially placed him in 14-day judicial custody; however, the Telangana High Court later granted him interim bail that evening. Due to a complication with the bail order, the actor spent the night in jail but was released on Saturday morning.
