Hugh Jackman's children, Oscar and Ava, are reportedly facing challenges in navigating their father's new relationship with Broadway actress Sutton Foster. This development follows Hugh's separation from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness, which occurred a year ago.

According to a source quoted by Woman’s Day, the situation has been difficult for the children as they attempt to integrate Sutton into their father's life while grappling with their own mixed emotions. They also experience feelings of guilt when they consider becoming too close to her.

The situation appears to be somewhat complicated, but Hugh remains optimistic that time will mend any rifts. He hopes that if they can manage to get through the holiday season without significant conflicts, they will find themselves in a more harmonious situation as they enter the new year.

Currently, the Wolverine actor is celebrating the holidays in Australia with his children. It remains uncertain whether Deborra-Lee will join them. The family, who resides in New York, is likely staying at Hugh's $12 million penthouse in North Bondi. Meanwhile, Sutton is in Los Angeles, where she is performing in the stage production of Once Upon A Mattress.

Reports indicate that Hugh has also met Sutton's seven-year-old adopted daughter, Emily. A source cited by New Idea mentioned, "Hugh has met Sutton’s daughter Emily—she even calls him ‘Uncle Hugh’!"

Deborra-Lee is reportedly filled with intense anger due to being caught off guard by Hugh's new relationship.

Deb is reportedly experiencing intense frustration over being the last to learn about the relationship, as sources indicate she is "seething with rage." An insider shared with RadarOnline that "Deb feels blindsided. She possesses an exceptional memory and is not hesitant to utilize it. Deb feels betrayed by all three individuals involved, as someone could have informed her about the situation, yet they all opted to remain silent."

The public became aware of Hugh and Sutton's relationship following their performances in The Music Man on Broadway, where they portrayed Harold Hill and Marian Paroo. The couple was seen together during the show's opening night in February 2022.

In September 2023, Hugh and Deborra-Lee announced their separation through a joint statement, expressing, "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage." Shortly thereafter, Sutton initiated divorce proceedings against her husband, Ted Griffin, in October.

Currently, Hugh is reportedly striving to maintain equilibrium during the holiday season. According to the source, "It’s a delicate balancing act, and he feels that if anyone is going to spend less time with the kids this year, it’s him."
