Initially characterized by a professional employee-boss relationship, it developed into a romantic involvement and has now matured into a sincere and affectionate friendship. Hugh Grant remarks, "They are fully aware of each other's identities. Where there was once a spark, there remains a flicker... and we play with that in this film."

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy features a talented cast including Leo Woodall, Emma Thompson, James Callis, Sarah Solemani, Sally Phillips, and Shirley Henderson. Drawing inspiration from Helen Fielding's internationally celebrated bestsellers, this latest chapter follows Bridget as she embarks on a new journey as a single mother, raising her two young children, Billy and Mabel, four years after the tragic loss of her husband during a humanitarian mission in Sudan.

The film is set to premiere on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2025.
