Chandoo Mondeti's film Thandel, featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, premiered in theatres this Friday. Presented by Allu Aravind, the movie has an intriguing link to Allu Arjun, which extends beyond their familial relationship as father and son. According to a report by Great Andhra, the film's inception was inspired by a Pakistani jailer's request for the actor's autograph.
Thandel’s Allu Arjun connect
Thandel is inspired by the real-life event involving 22 fishermen from Srikakulam who inadvertently drifted into Pakistani waters and were imprisoned for approximately 13 months. Producer Bunny Vas became aware of this situation when a Pakistani jailer provided the fishermen with his address, requesting an autograph from the actor Allu Arjun. This jailer, a devoted admirer of the actor, assisted the fishermen during their time in confinement. Upon their return to India, the fishermen honored their commitment by meeting with a writer who reached out to Geetha Arts regarding their story. Upon learning of the incident, the producer decided to create a film that depicts their ordeal.
Sunil’s recent statement on Pushpa
This statement reflects the sentiments expressed by actor Sunil, who portrayed Mangalam Seenu in Sukumar’s films, Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa 2: The Rule, during the film's success event held in Hyderabad. He shared his observations regarding the admiration for Indian cinema in Pakistan, recounting an incident where he was recognized by Pakistanis while in Spain.
He recounted, “It was past 10 pm, and we were searching for open restaurants when we stumbled upon a kebab shop. Although it was closed, the owners were outside smoking, and we initially presumed they were Indians. One of the gentlemen looked at me and mentioned that he recognized me from the interval scene in Pushpa. He even replayed the scene on his phone to confirm; I was taken aback. The owners, who were actually Pakistani, kindly prepared food for us despite the restaurant being closed.”
