Yo Yo Honey Singh shows no intention of reconciling his differences with fellow rapper and former collaborator Badshah. In a recent development, Honey Singh has publicly supported a fan's Instagram Reel that contends Badshah is unworthy of being a singer.
Honey Singh fan's video
Ridley Behl, an admirer of Honey Singh who operates under the Instagram handle @rideyay, shared an Instagram Reel in which he addressed his audience. In the video, Ridey stated, “Recently, I created a Reel about Badshah. In that, I mentioned that Honey Singh had liked it. I expressed that Badshah is not worthy of being a judge on Indian Idol. Following this, numerous fans of Badshah inundated me with abusive messages in my DMs and the comment section. Once Honey Singh liked the post, his fans also joined in.”
As it appeared that Ridey might offer an apology for his remarks, he took a different approach. “To all the fans of Badshah, I humbly apologize, acknowledging that you are his supporters. I also sincerely apologize for stating that he is not fit to be a judge on Indian Idol. In fact, I believe he is not even deserving of being a singer. I want to emphasize that this is not something you should take offence to. What have I done that warrants such abuse? If I mention that I have applied Honey Oak perfume today, will you insult me for that? No, right? There is a honeycomb in my bathroom. Will you insult me for that? Is it a common occurrence for Badshah not to have a honeycomb at his home? (laughs),” Ridley concluded.
Honey Singh offers his support
Honey Singh not only expressed his appreciation for Ridey's earlier Reel by liking it, but he also took the time to comment on the latest one. The singer wrote, “Yo-Yo Army is with you I'll bro! Don't worry.” Ridley subsequently pinned Honey Singh's comment to the top of his Reel.
In a recent interview with India Today, Honey addressed his ongoing conflict with Badshah. He stated, "People frequently inquire about my dispute or controversy with Badshah. A conflict involves both parties, but for a decade, one individual has persistently insulted me, created songs about me, and ridiculed my health issues, while I chose not to respond.”
He continued, “It was only this year, in 2024, that I began to voice my concerns, motivated by my fans. They reached out to me, urging, ‘Please speak up; this concerns our dignity now. One man is continuously disparaging you.’ Their support prompted me to break my silence. He has since apologized and acknowledged his wrongdoing, yet he is the type of person who insults and then retracts. Just wait and see – he will change his stance again. I do not regard individuals like that as significant,” Honey remarked.
On the professional front, a documentary titled Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous was released on Netflix India last week. Meanwhile, Badshah is currently serving as a judge on Indian Idol 15, alongside Vishal Dadlani and Shreya Ghoshal.
