In a surprising turn of events, Punjabi singer Himanshi Khurana left everyone astonished by selecting her former competitor Shehnaaz Gill instead of her ex-boyfriend Asim Riaz during a quick-fire segment on a talk show.

Himanshi ditches Asim Riaz for Shehnaaz Gill

During During her appearance on Spotlight With Mandy, Himanshi faced a challenging question: to select between Shehnaaz Gill and Asim Riaz. 

Without hesitation, she confidently named Shehnaaz as her preferred choice, adding a playful laugh and the word "obviously" to her answer. The host was taken aback by this response, covering her mouth and sharing a laugh with Himanshi. 

Both Himanshi and Shehnaaz were contestants on Bigg Boss 13, where they frequently found themselves in conflict.

Social media users were left stunned by Himanshi's response, with many taking to the comment section of the video posted on Instagram to express their shock and surprise. Others, however, appreciated the newfound respect and camaraderie between the two former rivals, praising Himanshi for her maturity.

“Sub ki favourite DIVA Shehnaaz (Everyone's favorite Shehnaaz),” one wrote, with another sharing, "We love Shehnaaz”. “Only Shehnaaz is matters,” shared on fan, with another writing, “Ok nice”. “Oh the emotions have changed,” posted one social media user.

What do we know about Himanshi and Asim’s relationship?

In 2023,  Himanshi has officially announced her separation from Asim Riaz after four years of being together. On December 6, the Punjabi singer took to her Instagram Stories to share a statement explaining that their breakup was due to "different religious beliefs." The couple began their relationship while participating in Bigg Boss 13, where Himanshi entered as a wild card contestant. In her Instagram post, she expressed, "We tried... but could not find a solution for our lives... We still love each other, but fate has not favored our happily ever after. There is no animosity, only love. This is a mature decision." Additionally, she shared a formal statement on her X account, stating, "YES, we are no longer together. The time we spent together was wonderful, but our relationship has come to an end. Our journey was meaningful, and we are now moving forward in our lives. Out of respect for our respective religions, we are choosing to sacrifice our love due to our differing beliefs. We hold no ill will towards each other and kindly ask for privacy during this time. Himanshi."

During her time on Bigg Boss, Himanshi disclosed that she had been in a relationship with Chow for nine years. Shortly after leaving the reality show, she announced her breakup with him. Since 2020, she had been in a relationship with Asim Riaz, who had openly expressed his feelings for her on Bigg Boss 13. The couple collaborated on several songs, including "Kalla Sohna Nai," "Afsos Karoge," "Khyaal Rakheya Kar," and "Dil Ko Maine Di Kasam." Since their breakup, both Asim and Himanshi have remained private about their relationship status.
