Hilaria Baldwin recently revealed that she signed a prenup before marrying Alec Baldwin without really understanding what it was all about. During the premiere of their TLC show, The Baldwins, the couple looked back on their chat about the prenup before they got hitched in 2012.

After my first marriage, I thought, "Let’s get a prenup." My ex, Kim Basinger, wasn’t thrilled about it. It was definitely an uncomfortable situation, especially since we have a 29-year-old daughter, Ireland. Alec was married to Kim from 1993 until 2002.

Hilaria chimed in, saying that while the prenup request felt a bit “awkward” for her, she went ahead and signed it anyway. “Honestly, I don’t really get what a prenup is,” the 41-year-old confessed.

She added, “It’s like, ‘After a certain number of kids, it’s this,’” and then she thought, “You know what? I’ll just sign it,” which she now considers a bit foolish.

If she were faced with a prenup today, she’d definitely take the time to read it. “Now, I would read it again,” Hilaria mentioned, noting that she and Alec ultimately didn’t sign one.

“But I was like, ‘I don’t want to think about the end right from the start.’ And you were like, ‘Yeah, I’m not into that either,’” she recalled, as reported by Page Six.

The couple, who have been together for over ten years, are parents to seven kids: daughters Carmen, 11, María, 3, and Ilaria, 2, and sons Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, and Eduardo, 4.
