Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams' daughter, Matilda Ledger, has matured and bears a striking resemblance to her late father. Recent photographs published by Page Six feature the 19-year-old alongside her friend May Lehrer-Seller in Brooklyn, New York, on Sunday. Matilda was born in 2005, just a few years before Heath's untimely passing in January 2008 due to an accidental overdose linked to prescription drug misuse.

In the recent photographs, Matilda was observed walking with a companion after purchasing a cup of coffee. She donned a green puffer jacket, which she matched with blue jeans. Additionally, she carried a red tote bag and wore her blonde hair down.

Matilda's infrequent public appearance occurs one week prior to the anniversary of her father Heath's passing. The actor passed away on January 22, 2008.

Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams first crossed paths while filming Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain, leading to a romantic relationship that lasted three years. Their relationship ended in 2007, just five months prior to Ledger's untimely passing. Notably, one of Matilda's godparents is Jake Gyllenhaal, who also starred in Brokeback Mountain.

In a 2022 interview with Variety, Michelle revealed the profound bond actor Jeremy Strong shares with Matilda. She recounted how Strong came to her home during her period of mourning for Heath, providing support and care for Matilda.

"Jeremy possessed the seriousness required to bear the burden of a child's broken heart, while also being sensitive enough to engage her through play, games, and lightheartedness. Although Matilda did not have the opportunity to grow up with her father, she was fortunate to have Jeremy in her life — his ability to play as if his own life depended on it had a transformative effect on both of us, as it was essential for her well-being," she expressed.
