Hawk Tuah Girl Haliey Welch Addresses Crypto Controversy: "I Take This Situation Very Seriously"

Haliey Welch, known for her role in 'Hawk Tuah,' is resolutely focused on restoring her reputation and reviving her career in the wake of a cryptocurrency scandal that has cast a shadow over her public image.
The issue originated from the significant collapse of the $HAWK meme-coin, which Welch had endorsed, leading to a lawsuit that claims the cryptocurrency was improperly registered.
This lawsuit, initiated by investors, targets Overture Ltd., its founder Clinton So, influencer Alex Larson Schultz, and the Tuah The Moon Foundation, accusing them of illegally promoting and selling an unregistered cryptocurrency. Notably, Welch is not named as a defendant despite her public association with the memecoin.
A source close to Welch informed the Daily Mail, “Haliey recognizes how her sudden entry into the industry may be perceived, but since gaining widespread attention, she has demonstrated her potential to cultivate a successful career.”
“She intends to move forward after clarifying the circumstances surrounding her involvement in this venture.”
To aid her efforts, Welch has engaged Burwick Law, a firm that specializes in cryptocurrency litigation, to investigate the matter and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
Haliey Welch denies leading the $HAWK project
Daily Mail has reported that Welch's involvement in the project was minimal. According to a source, "She did not lead or originate the crypto project. She was merely a compensated spokesperson who received a sponsorship fee to associate her image with the team that developed and launched the $HAWK meme coin."
Welch expressed her seriousness regarding the situation, stating, "I want to address my fans, the investors who have been impacted, and the wider community. I am fully cooperating with and am dedicated to assisting the legal team representing those affected, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold accountable those responsible, and resolve this issue," she informed Daily Mail.
The lawsuit claims that the $HAWK token reached a market capitalization of $490 million before experiencing a decline of over 90% just hours after its launch on December 4. Investors allege that the presale generated around $2.8 million at a valuation of $16.69 million. The plaintiffs are seeking damages exceeding $150,000, accusing the defendants of unlawfully marketing the coin and making insufficient efforts to limit its sale outside the United States.
