1 month ago | 5 Views
Nine years later, actor Harshvardhan Rane has finally received recognition at the box office. His 2016 film, Sanam Teri Kasam, was re-released in theaters on February 7, 2025, and has since been enjoying a remarkable performance at the box office. Despite competing with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor's Loveyapa, as well as Himesh Reshammiya's Badass Ravi Kumar, Rane's film has distinguished itself significantly. Social media is currently abuzz with calls for him to be cast in major films instead of star children. In a recent interview, Harshvardhan addressed the issue of nepotism in the industry and shared his perspective on the matter.
Harshvardhan Rane talks about nepotism
Harshvardhan starred alongside Mawra Hocane in the poignant love story, Sanam Teri Kasam. Numerous videos from theaters have gone viral online, showcasing fans who have been moved to tears while re-experiencing the film on the big screen. Amidst the outpouring of love and appreciation, Harshvardhan Rane recently spoke with India Today and expressed his views on nepotism. When asked if the attention surrounding star kids causes him to feel bitter about his career, the actor articulated why he harbors no resentment towards nepotism. He noted that, contrary to popular belief, outsiders are increasingly securing significant opportunities.
He stated, "Honestly, I am someone who prefers to document my thoughts rather than simply accepting the prevailing opinions around me. When discussions arise about star kids receiving all the opportunities, I take note of their names and realize that eight out of ten have already faded from the industry. Therefore, I find it difficult to feel resentment when I analyze the situation and see that outsiders are the ones consistently obtaining quality work. How can we ignore their achievements? Consequently, I cannot bring myself to complain about it."
He further remarked, "This is not merely a form of positive affirmation; it is grounded in reality. I believe that whenever someone has doubts, they should take note. There are no biases or favoritism, only hard facts. Not many star kids have sustained their careers, while it is the outsiders who are thriving."
Harshvardhan Rane opens up on waiting for good projects
Harshvardhan Rane discusses his patience in seeking quality projects. During the discussion, the actor was inquired about the potential frustration of awaiting promising film opportunities. He responded by stating that he is adept at exercising patience. He remarked, "From a young age, I have learned to wait for circumstances to align in my favor, and I believe it is essential for everyone to understand that everything unfolds in its own time. I also advocate for delayed gratification over immediate rewards, as the latter tends to be fleeting."
