Sonamoni Saha returned to Star Jalsha after Ekka Dokka with her new serial Shubho Bibaho. She teamed up with Honey Bafna this time. In its beginning week, the serial fared well in the TRP. Tej (Honey) and Sudha’s (Sonamoni) story is set in the backdrop of a divorced girl’s second marriage. Shubho Bibaho streams on Disney+ Hotstar. 

The new pair’s chemistry is hit. But did they become friends in real life? Sonamoni’s marriage also did not work out. Will she marry for the second time? She talked about them to Hindustan Times Bangla.

How happy is she to see Shubho Bibaho’s rating in the TRP? The actress said ‘I feel good. Who doesn’t like praise? I am trying to work better.’ 

Honey Bafna does not talk much. Sonamoni has a working relationship with her co-star but has not yet become friends with him. They are still just colleagues. Sonamoni said ‘Not friendship as such. There are talks among colleagues when they are on the floor. Talking about anything other than work with Honey da has not yet been possible. We mostly talk about the scenes. Honey da is a taciturn person. I hope to get to know him better with time.’ 

Is a second marriage of a divorced girl still taboo in our society? Sonamoni said ‘I think times are changing and they should. We mostly highlight this issue for girls, but the same happens with boys as well. When a marriage doesn’t work, we assume that the person on the other side has no responsibility and blames the girl or the boy. But I think this is changing and man is getting modern. People believe that you can restart after the divorce. We will try to motivate people with our serial.’

Sonamoni’s marriage did not work out. Does she believe in social institutions like marriage? Sonamoni replied ‘I have had fantasies regarding marriage since my childhood. I think it is a crucial factor in human life. Marriage is important to me.’ What is her relationship status? Sonamoni grinned ‘Totally single’. 

Sonamoni dreams of settling down again. What type of person does she like? She said ‘I definitely wish to. Every girl wants to spend her life with a good partner. I want someone who will love Sonamoni, will understand her, and will take care of her. He has to be a person whom I can marry with no later regrets.’
