He started his career as an actor with a TV show called Dhoom Machaao Dhoom in 2007. His profession landed him the opportunity to feature in television reality shows such as Dharam Veer, Balika Vadhu, and Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo, among others.

His hard work made his big break in Bollywood in 2013. He debuted 'Lootera', with Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. After this movie, he realised that the industry can be ruthless and unforgiving and he felt that he was being underutilised due to coming from televise background. The actor worked very hard and he bagged his first film titled 'A Death In The Gunj' as a lead. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for this role. 

It has been a decade since Vikrant Massey’s first film was released. in this period he has done several films like Made in Heaven, Haseen Dillruba, Gaslight, Mumbaikar...etc
