Television actress Muskan Nancy James has accused her husband, Prashant Motwani, of domestic violence and has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against him, along with her mother-in-law, Mona Motwani, and sister-in-law, Hansika Motwani. The actress has alleged fraudulent activities related to property.

As reported by various media outlets, an FIR was filed at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai on December 18, 2024, citing sections 498-A, 323, 504, 506, and 34 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In her complaint, Muskan claimed that her mother-in-law and sister-in-law interfered in her marital relationship, which led to significant strain between her and her husband. She accused her husband of domestic violence, stating that the abuse resulted in her developing Bell’s Palsy, a condition characterized by temporary weakness or paralysis of the facial muscles on one side.

Additionally, she alleged that the three individuals demanded costly gifts and money while engaging in fraudulent property dealings. In a statement to ETimes regarding the FIR, Muskan confirmed that legal action has been taken against Prashant and his family, stating, "I have sought legal assistance now. At this point, I am not at liberty to comment further."

Muskan and Prashant were married in 2020 but have been separated since 2022, living apart for the last two years. Neither Prashant nor Hansika has publicly responded to the allegations made in the FIR.

She rose to prominence through her role in Mata Ki Chowki and has appeared in numerous television shows, including Code Red, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, and Agent Raghav – Crime Branch, among others.

In November 2022, Muskan disclosed her battle with Bell's Palsy. Through an Instagram post, she expressed, "Life is unpredictable and filled with surprises... Some individuals have questioned my absence, while others in my professional circle have speculated that I departed from the industry. A few may be aware of my current situation. I have been diagnosed with a condition known as Bell's Palsy (facial paralysis)... This can arise from significant stress and trauma. Unfortunately, it has recurred after I had achieved a 70% recovery, and the past few months have been exceedingly challenging for both me and my parents. As an artist, it has been distressing to awaken with a swollen face and excruciating pain."
