We had earlier reported that director H Vinoth collaborating with actor Vijay for latter's last film before he quits cinema. The director had confirmed that he will be working with Vijay in the project which is tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. Further, Vinoth also shared key details about the project. H Vinoth, who for the last three times worked with Ajith Kumar in Nerkonda Paarvai, Valimai and Thunivu, will be next collaborating with Vijay for Thalapathy 69. The film is already drowned in so much anticipations for not only it being the director's first collaboration with the filmmaker, but also Vijay's final film as actor before he takes up the role of full-time politician.


At the recently held Magudam Film Awards event in Chennai, H Vinoth said, "It will be 200% Thalapathy film which will be commercial and cater to everyone." Asked if it will be a political film, Vinoth said, "No. When we had committed to making this film, Vijay said that his films will be watched by all age groups and everyone. So, this film will not attack any political party, nor will be political. It is light film which will be fully commercial." This marks the first official announcement on Thalapathy 69.

The makers are yet to announce the cast and crew of the film. As per reports, the film is expected to go on floors in October 2024. Actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Mamitha Baiju are expected to be part of the cast, with KVN Productions bankrolling the project.

Vijay, who was last seen in Leo, is gearing up for the release of The GOAT on September 5. The film is directed by Venkat Prabhu and also stars Prashanth, Laila, Sneha, Prabhudheva, Ajmal Ameer, Vaibhav, Premgi, Yogi Babu, Mohan, and others.
