Gulki Joshi, the actress from Phir Subah Hogi and Nadaan Parindey Ghar Aaja, recently opened up about a scary moment when she almost got molested while presenting an award to cricket legend MS Dhoni. Thankfully, security stepped in and rescued her from the awkward situation.

Gulki recalls a scary incident

During a discussion on the YouTube channel Filmymantra, Gulki reminisced about an event that occurred several years ago while she was visiting her hometown, Ranchi.

She stated, “This occurred a long time ago. I traveled to Ranchi for the IPL — I was scheduled to present an award to Mr. Dhoni. At that time, my show Nadaan Parinde (2014) was going strong, and due to the show’s popularity, I received an invitation to be at the event. The moment I walked outside, I was completely surrounded by a throng. Surrounded to the extent that I became scared. It wasn’t merely excitement — it became physically overwhelming to the degree that I genuinely felt threatened. In the midst of the pushing, shoving, and tumult, a terrifying thought crossed my mind that I might be molested right there in the crowd. Fortunately, security personnel stepped in at the right time. Just as things were about to spiral out of control, the security team arrived and somehow succeeded in pulling me away from the mob. They quickly took me to safety. Yet the fear stayed. It unsettled me. That was the only occasion I’ve ever genuinely been afraid of the crowd, of the people. ”

When I met Dhoni

Reflecting on her encounter with Dhoni, Gulki expressed, “When I encountered Mr. Dhoni, he embodied everything you would wish a hero to represent — modest, friendly, and down-to-earth. Despite likely feeling tired after the game, he graciously engaged with each fan, smiled, posed for photos, and made everyone feel important. In that instant, I understood what genuine talent is. No arrogance, no theatrics — merely pure, unfiltered humbleness. It truly resonated with me. It reminded me that authentic talent truly shines the brightest when it is paired with genuine humility. ”

In terms of her professional activities, Gulki was most recently featured in Hasratein 2.
