On October 1, Bollywood actor Govinda’s gun mishap shocked his family and fans. The actor is now out of danger and is doing fine as per the latest health update from his wife, Sunita Ahuja. On October 2, his wife was seen arriving at the hospital. While speaking to the media, she informed that Govinda would be soon discharged from the hospital. Govinda was rushed to the hospital after he mistakenly shot himself in the leg on Tuesday morning. Later, his close relatives visited him at the hospital and extended their good wishes to the actor.

Sunita Ahuja shares major health update

Ever since the news of Govinda's hospitalization surfaced, his fans have been awaiting the Shiv Sena leader’s health update after the unfortunate incident. In a recent update, his wife Sunita Ahuja told the media that he is doing better and will be shifted to a normal ward from the ICU. For the unversed, Govinda injured himself after he struck a bullet in his leg when his licensed revolver misfired on Tuesday morning. He was then rushed to the CritiCare Asia hospital in Mumbai and was in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

"He is better. We will admit him to the normal ward today. He is much better than yesterday (and) will be discharged the day after tomorrow. With everyone's blessings... he has recovered," Sunita told the reporters.

The 60-year-old actor, who is renowned for his rib-tickling roles, enjoys a massive fan following. While giving Govinda’s health update and discharge news, Sunita also urged fans not to worry or panic about his health. She said, "He has a great fan following, so people are praying for him. I would like to tell his fans not to panic... he is fine."

Govinda’s gunfire incident

The Partner actor suffered a severe leg injury on Tuesday early morning when he was putting his gun into a cupboard but mistakenly dropped it which led to the shot. The incident was reported by his manager who rushed to his Mumbai residence to take him to the hospital for medical assistance.

According to his manager, the actor was putting his revolver back into a cupboard - after cleaning it at around 4.45 am, when it misfired. He then called him and his wife and informed them about the mishap. "It is due to God's grace that Govinda ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious," his manager said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Govinda shared a voice note and expressed his gratitude for the prayers and doctor’s assistance. “Namaskar, Pranam. I am Govinda. With the blessings of all of you and the blessings of my parents, and by the grace of my Guru, I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I thank the doctor here, respected Dr. Garwal, and I thank all of you for your prayers," the voice message said.
