Sunita Ahuja has addressed the comparisons made between Varun Dhawan and her husband, actor Govinda. In an interview with Hindi Rush, Sunita expressed her confusion regarding the rationale behind these comparisons. She remarked that it is likely disheartening for Varun to be likened to both Govinda and actor Salman Khan.

Sunita stated, “People say they compare, but I do not understand why they do so. It must also be upsetting for him to be compared to Salman Khan and Chi-Chi bhaiya.”

Sunita talks about Varun as a child

Reflecting on Varun's childhood, she noted, “The man has grown up watching… his father (David Dhawan) has collaborated with Govinda on 17-18 films. Naturally, there will be some resemblance. Varun has always been a cheerful child since his early years.”

As for Govinda's recent work, he was last featured in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja, directed by Sikander Bharti. Upcoming projects for him include Baahe Haath Ka Khel, Pinky Darling, and Len Den: It's All About Business.

He is also slated to take on a role in the forthcoming movie Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, where he will share the screen with Janhvi Kapoor. Additionally, Varun is set to participate in the action-filled war drama Border 2, alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Production for this film has already commenced, with a projected release date in 2026.
