Tina Ahuja, the daughter of Govinda and Sunita Ahuja, recently sparked controversy with her comments regarding menstrual cramps during an interview. Following the release of the interview, her remarks quickly gained traction on social media. Many netizens found her statement inappropriate, leading to a significant backlash against her. Further details can be found below.

What did Govinda's daughter Tina Ahuja say about period cramps?

In a recent interview with Hautterfly, Tina Ahuja expressed that she has never experienced period pain, remarking, "Only girls from Bombay discuss cramps."

She elaborated, "Having spent the majority of my time in Chandigarh, I have observed that it is primarily the girls from Bombay who talk about cramps. A significant part of the issue arises from the formation of these circles that discuss the problem, which can lead even those who do not experience cramps to feel them psychologically. Many women in Punjab and other smaller cities are often unaware of the onset of menopause," she stated.

Tina mentioned that her physique might be somewhat influenced by her South Asian heritage. She has never experienced any back pain. Furthermore, she noted that many young women excessively diet while being influenced by Instagram, leading to the manifestation of issues that are not actually present. This remark gained significant attention online, resulting in criticism directed at her on social media. Sunita Ahuja supported her daughter's viewpoint, emphasizing that they incorporate a spoonful of ghee into their daily diet.

Netizens' reactions

A segment from the interview was posted on Reddit with the remark, "Period pain is not real, folks! Trust Govinda's wife and daughter."

In response, one individual commented, "I have witnessed women close to me experiencing this; while it may vary for each woman, to completely dismiss it is absurd."

Another remarked, "It is often said that fools take pride in their ignorance. These two exemplify that notion perfectly."

One commenter expressed, "As a woman, it infuriates me that someone raised in such privilege would come on a podcast to trivialize the pain of others."

"I have never encountered anything more foolish in my life. Each person is unique, and their bodies respond differently," stated another comment.

A different Reddit user noted, "The truth is that not everyone experiences the same level of pain; it varies significantly from woman to woman."
