Bollywood actor Govinda has recently attracted media attention regarding his personal life, following online reports suggesting that he and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, are on the verge of divorce after 38 years of marriage. In response to these claims, Sunita's manager has provided clarification about the state of their marriage during an interview with Mint.

Sunita's manager reacts

Sadia Solkar, the manager of Sunita, has denied the allegations concerning the troubled marriage between Govinda and Sunita, stating to the portal, “This is not true.” Nevertheless, she declined to provide any further comments on the ongoing speculation.

Previously, Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, remarked that "The recent comments made by Sunita Ji in interviews are the cause of these rumours. She may have spoken a bit too freely. And as for Govinda sir… there is some tension.” When inquired about any legal actions between the couple, he responded, “No, they are not currently involved in any such matters; I encourage everyone to wait a day or two.”

The divorce speculation emerged after a source informed ETimes that "Sunita reportedly sent a notice of separation a few months ago, but there has been no progress since then." In contrast, Govinda's niece and nephew, Arti Singh and Krushna Abhishek, dismissed the rumors as unfounded gossip, asserting that the couple would never divorce. However, the couple has not yet provided any official statement regarding the rumours.

Govinda and Sunita's relationship

Sunita and Govinda developed feelings for one another prior to the actor's ascent to fame in Bollywood. Their initial encounter occurred when Sunita was in the ninth grade, meeting Govinda at a wedding. They share a familial bond, as Sunita is the sister-in-law of Govinda's maternal uncle, who played a pivotal role in his entry into the film industry. Nevertheless, their romantic relationship flourished years later. The couple has been married for 38 years and is blessed with two children, Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan.
