Actor-turned-politician Govinda made a visit to the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. Numerous videos and images of his time at the temple have surfaced on social media.

Govinda offers prayers at Ujjain temple

During his visit, the actor engaged in prayer and expressed his happiness after completing the necessary rituals. He was also observed conversing with fellow devotees. As part of a traditional practice among Lord Shiva's followers, he poured water over the Nandi idol, which represents Shiva's bull.

Govinda participates in temple rituals

The actor joined his hands in prayer while receiving blessings from the priests. For this occasion, Govinda donned a yellow kurta paired with white pyjamas and sported a tika, a sacred mark, on his forehead.

Arjun Rampal recently too visited temple

Earlier this month, actor Arjun Rampal visited the temple to partake in the sacred Bhasma Aarti. During his visit, he offered prayers and received a black stole adorned with "Mahakal" in golden embroidery, a customary symbol of respect at the temple.

The Mahakaleshwar Temple, located along the banks of the Shipra River in Ujjain, is of great religious importance as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Govinda's Recent Filmography  

Following a series of successful films in the 1990s and a resurgence in the mid-2000s, Govinda's output diminished in the 2010s. Besides his supporting roles in Holiday and Kill Dil, he primarily appeared in films that faced delays. His most recent performances on the big screen were in the 2018 movie Friday and the 2019 film Rangeela Raja.

About Govinda's Family  

Govinda is married to Sunita Ahuja, and they have two children: son Yashvardhan Ahuja and daughter Tina Ahuja. Recently, rumors surfaced regarding a potential divorce between Govinda and Sunita.

In a statement to India Today, Govinda's lawyer confirmed that Sunita had filed for divorce six months ago, but the couple has since reconciled. He mentioned, “We also traveled to Nepal during the New Year and performed puja together at Pashupatinath Mandir. Everything is fine between them now. Such issues can arise in any relationship, but they are strong and committed to each other.”
